Tasha Ina Church was the co-founder of Ladies First, an in-school and after school empowerment program for female youth. It focuses on self-esteem building, body-image workshops, and self-defense training. Tasha Co-Founded Ladies First 3 years ago and sees empowering women as her calling!
In a notable effort to combat mainstream forms of beauty, Ladies First created the #BeautyIs campaign to address body-image in a new way, interviewing women and girls and learning what "Beauty Is". This campaign was designed to let all women know that they are beautiful no matter what shape, size, color, or background.
For her work with women and girls Tasha received recognition for being a "Distinguished Woman" by the Women of Color (WOC) Health Committee of Pierce County, received the Golden Acorn Award from Washington State PTA, Tacoma Chapter, and was a finalist for City Club of Tacoma's Dennis G. Seinfeld Emerging Leader Award.
After three and a half years as a co-owner, Tasha decided to broaden her reach to work and advocate for girls on a global level through the organization 4Girls GLocal Leadership (www.4GGL.org). In addition to this effort, Tasha has launched a new women's empowerment blog called Women Making History NOW. This blog is to share that Women Are Making History (better HERstory) NOW! Women are pioneers, innovators, change-makers, & cultivators. It is the goal to highlight, showcase, & to share the #SheroQuoteOfTheDay!
